Telling My Heart to Beat Again

I've been reading "Self Creation" by Yvonne F. Brown. A wonderful woman I met a few years ago who came to the company I work at as a speaker for a team building training course. The company envisioned creating a high performance work team. There were approximately 28 employees going through the course. At the end of her course, she held a drawing for one of us to receive her book free. As fate would have it, I received her book and her autograph at the end of the course. I started to read it a few weeks after receiving it but then as stressful things started happening in my life, I put the book aside and kind of forgot about it. While I've been off work for my neck pain, I started reading her book again. It is opening my eyes to positive possibilities and giving me the insight to tell my heart to beat again. I didn't start reading again from the beginning. I just started where I had left my bookmark and everything I'm reading about is perfect to what I'm going through right now. Chapter 6, page 117, under "What's the Point?" states "We are the sum of all of our experiences, and how we react or don't react or, decide to react to things that occur in life is a direct reflection of the imprinting that we allow to exist in our psyche." Then on page 118, "What makes you think you can?" It states "To believe you can is the secret of all achievement.... What you put in is what you get out. If you feed yourself true belief in yourself and you abilities, then you will find that whatever you believe will be manifested.... And you may even surprise yourself, one day."

Today is my birthday. It has been a very good day so far. I spent time this morning with my mom, sister and my daughter and her boyfriend. A special breakfast celebrating life with loved ones. These are the moments that mean the most to me. Live, Laugh, Love. And instead of going out to a special dinner with my husband and daughters tonight, I will be having leftover pulled pork and some wine and watch the absolute best show ever, "This Is Us." I'm ready for this!! Bring on the much needed tears. NBC writers have created such an amazing show with "This Is Us."

I am thankful to the Lord for this special day and for all of the blessings in my life. And this includes whoever may be reading this blog. I thank you for visiting my website.

Today's bible verse of the day comes from www.heartlight.org 2 Corinthians 4:16 - "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day."
