Going to See the Light

Hello, friends. Hope you have all been doing well. I said I would continue this blog more consistently, but I haven’t. I had to check my blog to see when my last post was exactly. I have failed at keeping up with my blog like I said I would. So many things have happened that I have been dwelling on poor pitiful me again. And then a world-wide pandemic reared its ugly head. I won’t bore you with the other details. More importantly, I’m back. I feel more alive now than I did a year ago. I’m seeing more light at the end of the tunnel than darkness. I’m grateful to God that I’m coming out of the darkness that I put myself in. I am grateful that God is with me and won’t let me go. Better news!!! He is with us all.

I heard Toby Mac’s song, See the Light, and was inspired to write again. With this world pandemic going on, we all have to hold on just a little while. Slow down and live cautiously. Some of the people in this world are in a state of panic, some are following orders with staying home and they are connecting with family, and some are bored at home now and protesting the quarantine’s stay at home orders. Everywhere you go, there’s a message that “We’ll get through this together, alone.” Toby’s song is a perfect message during this pandemic. “We’re going to see the light.”

I see the mountain gettin' higher I see it stackin' up against you I always said you were a fighter But you've got your doubts tonight

But I'm here to remind you It don't matter where you come from I know we can get through this It might feel it's been so long But we keep on keepin' on (keepin' on) It might feel like an uphill climb Always some kind of battle (battle) But you got more than you on your side

And we gon' see the light (see the light) We gon' see the light (see the light) We gon' see the light (see the light) You and me, yeah, you and me We gon' see the light

Some things will never be the same Some things are only for a season (season) And just the thought of letting go Well, it's brought you to your knees (to your knees, to your knees)

Oh, but if you can make it, you can make it through the ni-ight I can promise that the sun is gonna ri-ise You wake up just a little bit stronger So hold on just a little bit longer.

The virus is weakening. God is listening to our prayers. So, yes, friends, let’s hold on a little bit longer. Staying true to my theme, “It’s only temporary,” I’d like to share the perfect verse for that theme. From 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 New King James Version (NKJV) 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

“This too shall pass.” A famous phrase that helps some overcome bad things in their life. A simple phrase that reminds me there is hope and life’s seasons are only temporary.
