Cherished Moments

Listening to KC & the Sunshine Band "Boogie Shoes" takes me back to when I was 13 years old. I got my first record player and KC & the Sunshine Band's record. I think it was a 33. I'm not positive about that though. I would play Boogie Shoes, That's The Way I Like It, and Please Don't Go on repeat. I can't even remember how old I was at the time but it was one of my best Christmas memories ever.

January 6th was my nieces 13th birthday. My youngest daughter asked if I had any pictures of them together and I looked at old pictures on flash-drives I have. It had me "in my feels" like my daughter would say. But sometimes that's where you gotta go to get out of a funk. And just like another song from KC & the Sunshine Band, you gotta "Shake Your Booty." Live a little, have a lot of fun.

Growing up in the 70's and 80's gave me the opportunity to hear what I feel is the best music ever. From country artists such as Mac Davis "It's Hard to Be Humble" to ABBA "Take a Chance on Me." Then there's "Sneaky Snake" by Tom T. Hall. And a variety of others such as Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Rod Stewart, Stray Cats, Huey Lewis & the News, Guns & Roses, Michael Jackson, Prince, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Van Halen, Wham, Survivor, Journey, Queen, and so many more. And then to make all of that better, there was the best days of MTV ever.

As that day progressed, I felt more joy while playing old music and looking through old pictures. My oldest daughter and I even danced in the living room together. It is the sweetest moment a mother could ever have when there child, no matter how old they are, is singing, dancing, laughing and is happy in that moment. Time really goes by too fast. They say don't live in the past but when you have special cherished memories, I believe it's okay to go back to those moments. It brings back the joy you were feeling then.

Today is January 9th and my absolute favorite #OneChicago shows return. Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD. I'm excited to learn the fate of #manstead on Chicago Med, Casey and the fire in his apartment & Kidd and Severide on Chicago Fire, and Antonio's progress with his prescription pills addiction on Chicago PD. Happy #OneChicago day everyone. God bless!

I'm choosing the verse today from verseoftheday.com. "Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling...Blessed are all who take refuge in Him." Psalm 2:11-12.
